ISSUE
After updating Office to Current Channel Version 2510 Build 19328.20158, when you open an email with classic Outlook or open a Word document you get one of the following errors:

"The procedure entry point SetThreadDescription could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\wwlib.dll"

“Sorry, we’re having trouble opening this item. This could be temporary, but if you see it again you might want to restart Outlook. The text formatting command is not available. It may not be installed correctly. Install Microsoft Outlook again.”
STATUS: INVESTIGATING
This is an emerging issue that we are investigating. Please check back periodically for status updates.
To immediately resolve the issue, please upgrade client machines to Windows 11 and server machines to Windows Server 2019 or later. For more information, please go to the Office and M365 end of support guidance, What Windows end of support means for Office and Microsoft 365.
WORKAROUND
To work around the issue, you can revert to the prior Version 2509 (Build 19231.20216).

Open a Command Prompt in Administrator context.

Type or paste the two commands into the Command Prompt window and press Enter after each:

cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.19231.20216

To prevent Office updating back to the latest build, you can turn off updates by selecting File > Office Account > Update Options > Disable Updates.

Put a reminder on your calendar for December 9th to re-enable updates. Or check back on this Known Issue in case it is addressed sooner.
