You can share a document in your GroupMe chats and easily find it again in your chat's gallery.
To share a document to your GroupMe chat:

Click attach
to bring up the gallery menu. -
Click Photo library
. -
Click Documents, select the file you want from the document picker, then click Open.

Click Send to share the file to your chat.
GroupMe supports the following document file types for sharing:
