Applies ToOutlook.com

Outlook.com examines incoming emails to determine if they are part of a subscription from the sender. After filtering out junk mail, it looks for subscription identifiers in the message header. Outlook.com provides a convenient way to manage your email subscriptions and block senders all in one place, making it easier to opt out of unwanted email lists.

To manage your subscriptions

  1. Select Settings .

  2. Select Mail, then Subscriptions.

  3. From the list of Your current subscriptions, find the one you don't want to receive any longer and select Unsubscribe.

Note: You might not have the option to unsubscribe from certain emails if they have been filtered into junk mail, if you have added them to your list of blocked senders and domains, or if they are not from the same sender.

  4. In the confirmation window, select OK.

To block the sender

  1. Select Settings .

  2. Select Mail, then Subscriptions.

  3. From the list of Your current subscriptions, select the three dots next to the sender.

  4. Select Block <sender>, then OK in the confirmation window.

Tip: You can view the list of blocked senders and domains at any time by going to Settings > Mail > Junk email. For more information, go to Block senders or mark email as junk in Outlook.com or Outlook on the web.
