On the Insert tab, selectÂ
  Symbol and choose   More Symbols. -
In the Subset dropdown, choose Number Forms.
If you don't see Subset, change your font to match the text you're inserting into. -
Double-click the fraction that you want to insert and select Close.

Autocorrect converts some text fractions (1/4, 1/2, and 3/4) to fraction characters (¼, ½, ¾) as you type them. To turn off autocorrect, see Change AutoCorrect options.

Not all fractions have a symbol that you can substitute. For more unusual fractions, such as 8/9, you set the numerator as superscript and the denominator as subscript to approximate the symbol, like 8/9. For more info, see Insert subscript or superscript text.

On the Structures tab, select the fraction format to use in the Equation Tools pane.

Edit the fraction at the top of the Equation Tools pane to what you need and select Insert on page when done.
