Insert a table or picture into your document to give it structure or a visual touch.

Note: to create a larger table in current versions of Word, select Choose rows and columns.

Insert a table

  1. On the Insert tab, select Table.

  2. Highlight the number of columns and rows you want, and then select them.

For a larger table

  1. On the Insert tab, select Table and pick Choose rows and columns.

  2. Choose the number or columns and rows you want.

Insert a picture

  1. On the Insert tab, select Picture.

  2. Choose the picture location option to use. 

  3. Find the image you're looking for, choose a picture and select Insert or Open.

Generate a picture with Copilot

  1. On the Insert tab, select Pictures.

  2. Select Generate an Image.

  3. In Copilot, describe the image to create and press Enter.

  4. Refine the image as needed.

  5. Select the image and choose Add plus sign icon Insert.
