Select the cells you'd like to lock.

On the Home tab, select theÂ
 Alignment Settings dialog launcher in the Alignment group. -
On the Protection tab, check the Locked check box and then select OK.

Go to Review and select either
 Protect Sheet or  Protect Workbook, and then apply password protection.Note: Cells are only locked when you have a password in place. To unlock, remove the password.Â
Cells locked using the Excel desktop app are honored in the web app, but locking or unlocking cells isn't currently possible from Excel for the web. To lock cells, use the Excel Desktop App.Â
