ISSUE

Some users might be unable to download and install Microsoft 365 Apps from the Microsoft 365 portal (portal.office.com). When users select Install Office, the button might disappear and the installer download is not initiated.

STATUS: FIXED

The issue was caused by a configuration gap introduced during the rollout of Microsoft 365 build to the Production environment. This missing configuration impacted the backend service responsible for generating the installation link, causing the “Install Office” action to not trigger the expected download behavior. Microsoft engineering teams identified the root cause following internal validation and confirmed that the issue originated from the recent service update.

RESOLUTION

The configuration has now been corrected through a service-side fix, and the updated build has been deployed across the affected environment.
