On the File tab, select Info.

Select
 Protect Workbook, choose  Encrypt with Password and delete the password for the file. -
Select OK.
Setting and removing a password isn't currently possible in Excel for the web. You can, however, work with passwords in the Excel desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop App.
Don't have the Excel desktop app? Try or buy Microsoft 365.

Open the file, enter the password if it asks.

On the File menu, select Passwords.

Clear any password fields and select OK.Â

Save the file.Â
