If an Office application, such as Word or Outlook, isn't working correctly, sometimes restarting it will fix the problem. If that doesn't work, you can try repairing it. When you're done, you might need to restart your computer.

  1. Right-click theĀ StartĀ button, and selectĀ Apps and FeaturesĀ on the pop-menu.

  2. Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair, and selectĀ Modify.

  3. Note:Ā If you have a standalone application, such as Word or Outlook, search for the application name instead of searching for the suite name like Microsoft 365 Family or Office Home and Student.

  4. Choose one of these options based on what's presented:

  5. In the windowĀ How would you like to repair your Office Programs, selectĀ Online RepairĀ >Ā RepairĀ to make sure everything gets fixed. (The fasterĀ Quick RepairĀ option is also available, but it only detects and then replaces corrupted files.)

  6. InĀ Change your installation, selectĀ RepairĀ and then select Continue.
