Select the text box you want to rotate.Â

On the Shape Format tab that appears, selectÂ
 Rotate Objects under Arrange. -
Select a standard rotation, likeÂ
 Rotate Left 90º or  Flip Horizontal, or choose  More Rotation Options to enter a custom rotation.

Select the text box you want to rotate.

On the Shape Format tab, selectÂ
 Rotate Objects under  Arrange. -
Choose the direction to rotate the text or chooseÂ
 More Rotation Options.

On the Insert tab, select
 ​​​​​​​Drawing and choose  Text Box. -
Draw a text box and add text. Select the
 rotate handle and rotate the text.
For more control over rotating text, use the Word desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop.
