When you install Microsoft Lync Online communications software, it detects communications devices that are connected to your computer, including your webcam. You can also add or switch devices after you install Lync Online. Although you need a webcam to make a video call, you do not need one to receive a video call.
Note: You can make and received video calls only if your organization has enabled Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
-
Open Lync, click the Options button , and then click Video Device. If your camera is correctly connected to your computer, the video picture is displayed. If you have another program open, such as your webcam program, you won’t see the video picture until you close that program.
-
If you have more than one video device and want to switch, select it from the drop-down list. If you have only one device connected, that is all that is displayed in the drop-down list.
-
To adjust any settings, including color balance, contrast, and brightness, and black-and-white mode, click the Webcam Settings button. Click OK when complete.
