Microsoft Lync 2010 Attendee communications software detects communications devices that are connected to your computer, including your webcam. You can also add or switch devices after installing Lync 2010 Attendee. Although you need a webcam to make a video call, you do not need one to receive a video call.

What do you want to do?

View Video Device options

To view Video Device options, do one of the following:

  • Before you join a meeting, click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft Lync 2010 Attendee, and then click Video Device.

  • When you are in a meeting, click Settings, click Options, and then click Video Device.

Set up your webcam

In Video Device options, if your webcam is correctly connected to your computer, the video picture is displayed. To use a different webcam or to adjust webcam settings, do any of the following:

  1. If you have more than one device and want to switch to a different one, select the device you want to switch to from the drop-down list. If you have only one device connected, that is all that is displayed in the drop-down list.

  2. To adjust settings, including color balance, contrast, and brightness, and black-and-white mode, click the Webcam Settings button, adjust your settings, and then click OK.
