Position your cursor over the table and select the
 four arrow table handle that appears in the upper-left corner of the table. If you don't have a table yet, add a table. -
Go to Table Layout and select
 View Gridlines.
Important:Â When viewing a table with gridlines, make sure to first turn off table borders so you can see the gridlines.
Showing or hiding table gridlines isn't currently possible in Word for the web. You can, however, show or hide table gridlines in the Word desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop App.
