Confirm the 3-month trial subscription is expired
Step 1:
Start a preinstalled Microsoft 365 app from Start menu (Word, Excel or PowerPoint) after your subscription expired
Step 2:
The Your Microsoft 365 subscription has expired dialog opens on the app
Select the No, thanks button and close this dialog
Step 3:
Select Account menu in the left side of the app window
Look at the area under "Product Information"
This area is masked in pink and the Your subscription has expired is displayed.
Next, select Home menu in the left side of the app window and then Blank Document icon in Home screen to open a blank document window.
Step 4:
The notification bar in yellow appears in the window to recommend claiming the Office Home and Business 2024 free for you.
Select the Claim button in it

If you can never see the notification bar in the window, please make sure the email from Microsoft informing you that your 3-month trial subscription was expired. As that email also contains the link as same link embedded in the Claim button, you can go to the product page of Office Home & Business 2024 from the link in the email as well.

Step 5:
The Claim button redirects to the product page of Office Home & Business 2024 in Microsoft Store web site.
You can see the price of this offer is "Free" in it.
Select the Get button under the price
Caution: If the price for this offer does not appear as 'Free' in this page, please select the account icon at the top right of the page and check the Microsoft account shown in it. If a different account is displayed, please sign in again with your own account.
Step 6:
The Cart page opens with the offer added
Check the price is set with "¥0"
Select the Proceed to order button
Step 7:
The Proceed to order page opens
Select the Determine your order, if the price, quantity and product name are correct
Step 8:
The Thank you for your order page opens
The your order is completed
The Product key and the Use it now button are shown.
Select the Use it now button
Redeem the product key with your Microsoft account
Step 9:
The Use it now button redirects to Office setup page (This page is automatically signed in with your own Microsoft account.)
Select the Get started button
Step 10:
The Use the product key page opens
The product key in Step 7 has been automatically entered as the image on the right
Select the Redeem button if the product name is correct.
Step 10:
The Redemption of the key is completed
The landing page opens as the image on the right.
Next, please go to the Microsoft dashboard to check the offer linked to your own Microsoft account
Step 12:
Go to Subscription page in Microsoft dashboard
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and check the Office Home & Business 2024 is listed under the "Products you've purchased".
With this, your Microsoft account now has a license for 'Office Home & Business 2024'.
Activate the Office apps with your Microsoft account again
Step 13:
Return to the client app opened in Step 4 and restart it
Step 14:
You see the You can use Office dialog opens on it, and you see the string, "Your account has Office Home and Business 2024." and your own Microsoft account name is displayed in it.
Select the Get started button
Step 15:
The Accept the License agreement dialog opens
Select the Accept button
Step 16:
Select the Account menu in the left pane once again
Look at the area under the Product information. You can check that the client apps are licensed by "Office Home & Business 2024".
Note: This Office Home and Business 2024 free offer delivered after the 3-month trial ends is identical with a standard product sold in Microsoft Store and retail stores.
