Excel's Font dialog is one of the tabs in the Format Cells dialog. At the end of this section we'll give you links to articles about the other tabs in the Format Cells dialog.
Font     Specifies a typeface. When you select a font name, your choice will appear in the Preview box.
Font style     Specifies a font style, such as Bold or Italic, to apply to the selected typeface. When you select a font style, your choice will appear in the Preview box.
Size     Specifies a font size in points. You can select a size from the list, or type a custom size into the box.
Underline     Specifies whether selected text is underlined and the underline style. Select None to remove underlining.
Color     Specifies the color of the selected text. You can select from one of the pre-set pallet colors, or choose the More colors to select a custom color. See Choosing colors in the Colors dialog box for more information.
Normal font    Checking this option will reset the font attributes back to the default. Uncheck it and you can once again customize your font settings, although any previous customizations won't be restored.
Effects     The Effects list contains a short list of effects you can apply to your text..

Strikethrough     Draws a line through the selected text.

Superscript     Raises the selected text above the baseline and changes it to a smaller font size, if a smaller size is available.Â

Subscript     Lowers the selected text below the baseline and changes the selected text to a smaller font size, if a smaller size is available.Â
