Under Accessibility, select or clear Provide Feedback with animation.
To turn animations off across Windows and Office:Â

In Windows 11, press the
 Windows key, type and select  Animation effects and turn Animation effects on or off. -
In Windows 10, press the
 Windows key, type and select Ease of access display settings, and turn Show animations in Windows on or off.
Turning animations on or off isn't currently possible in Excel for the web. You can, however, turn animations on or off in the Excel desktop app.

To open the desktop app, select Editing > Open in Desktop App at the top of the ribbon.

To turn animations off in Windows 11, press the
