When Scroll lock is off, your arrow keys move you from cell to cell, or when Scroll lock is on, the arrow keys scroll the whole page. To turn Scroll lock on or off, do one of the following:Â

Full size keyboard. Press the ScrLk key, usually in the top row on the right.

Fn based ScrLk key. Press Fn+ScrLk, usually on the top or second row of keys.

No ScrLk key. It depends on the machine. Try pressing Fn+C or Fn+S.

No key or shortcut that works. Press the Windows key, type On-Screen Keyboard, and choose the ScrLk key.

The scroll lock key is not common on Mac based computers. Online forums mention using F14, fn+shift+f12, or control+shift+F12 for scroll lock, though it appears not all Macs support these. Scroll lock on a Windows pcs lets you toggle between scrolling the whole worksheet, or moving the cursor between cells.Â
Using ScrLk (scroll lock) to toggle between page scrolling and moving between cells isn't currently possible in Excel for the web. You can, however, use ScrLk in the Excel desktop app.
