If your camera doesn't work in Windows:

  1. In Windows, go to Camera privacy settings.  You can also press the Windows key  Windows 11 Start button, type Camera privacy settings, and then select Camera privacy settings. 

  2. Make sure Teams is allowed access, You may also need to set Allow apps to access your camera and Allow desktop apps to access your camera to on, depending on your version of Windows.   Test the camera in Windows Camera settings. 

If your camera does work in Windows: 

  1. In Teams, select the ellipsis (Generic Ellipsis button) by your profile picture or initials, choose  Settings gear iconSettings .

  2. Select Teams settings device iconDevices, check that the correct camera is selected under Video settings.

  3. To test, check the preview, or select Make a test call.

If your video is black, and you're on a laptop, check if the camera privacy slider is closed.  When you're in a meeting, select  Camera Off buttonCamera to turn on the camera.
