Microsoft OneNote automatically syncs your changes as you work. This happens with your own notebooks that you use across different devices and computers, as well as with notebooks that you’ve shared with other authors. If at any time you lose your Internet connection or turn off your device or computer, any pending changes that you’ve made will be automatically synced as soon as you’re back online.

Though syncing OneNote manually on your iPhone or iPad is not required, you can choose to always sync all pages with attachments (including images) for offline use.

iPad

Do the following:

  1. In OneNote, tap the Settings icon Settings icon in OneNote for iOS in the upper right corner.

  2. Under Settings, tap Sync.

  3. In the Sync options, make sure that Auto Sync Attachments is turned on.

iPhone

Do the following:

  1. In OneNote, tap the Show Notebooks button Show Notebooks button in the upper left corner. If necessary, tap it once or twice more, until it changes to the Settings icon.

  2. Tap the Settings icon Settings icon in OneNote for iOS in the upper left corner.

  3. Under Settings, tap Sync.

  4. In the Sync options, make sure that Auto Sync Attachments is turned on.
