The work offline option disconnects you from the mail server. Use this option when you don't want to receive new email.

  1. In classic Outlook, on the ribbon, select Send/Receive > Work Offline. When you're working offline, the button is selected (indicated by a gray background on the button).

  2. To work online, select the Work Offline button so that the option is turned off.
