PowerPoint doesn't have the same text-wrapping feature that Word does. But you can lay out your picture and wrapping text in Word, then embed that layout on a PowerPoint slide. Read on for instructions.

In Word, lay out the picture and wrapping text

  1. Start a blank Word document.

  2. Enter your text in the document.

  3. Place the cursor somewhere in the middle of the text.

  4. Go to Insert > Picture, and then insert your image.

  5. Select the picture. Near its upper right corner, select the Layout Options button:

  6. Select one of the text wrapping options.

  7. If necessary, drag the picture to position it within the wrapping text.

  8. Save the Word document and make note of where it is stored.

  9. Close the Word document.

Important: When you attempt to insert the text and image to your slide in the next procedure, the document must be closed.

In PowerPoint, add the content to your slide

  1. Switch to PowerPoint, then open the slide where you want to add the picture and text.

  2. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, select Object.

  3. In the Insert Object dialog box, select Create from file.

  4. Select Browse.

  5. Navigate to the Word document you saved in the previous procedure.

  6. Select it, then select OK.

  7. In the Insert Object dialog, select OK.

After the object is placed on the slide, you can move or resize it, if necessary. If you want to move or resize the image, or edit the text, just double-click the content of the box to make it editable.
