Assume that a volume is removed from a Windows Server 2012 R2-based or Windows Server 2012-based Hyper-V server. In this situation, the hypervisor on the Hyper-V server crashes with a Stop error message that resembles the following:

STOP: 0x000000D5 ( parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4 )

  • This Stop error indicates a DRIVER_PAGE_FAULT_IN_FREED_SPECIAL_POOL issue.

  • The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.

  • Not all "0x000000D5" Stop errors are caused by this issue.

To resolve this issue, install the update rollup that is dated November 2014 or July 2014.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
