This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for the India (in) region.
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario in the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1) with the India localization layer installed:
-
You create an invoice journal voucher for a vendor.
-
You apply a specific item sales tax group to the invoice. Additionally, you post the vendor invoice that contains sales tax.
-
You create a payment journal voucher for the vendor.
-
You select the invoice in the settlement of the vendor payment. Additionally, you post the vendor payment.
-
You reverse the settlements in the Closed transaction editing dialog box.
-
You try to post a sales tax payment through the general ledger.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Cannot edit a record in Posted sales tax (TaxTrans_IN). The record has never been selected.
This problem occurs because there is no code logic to insert the reversal records into the TaxTrans_IN table when you reserve the settlements in the Closed transaction editing dialog box.

Validation of the application hotfix installation
To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method whose name includes the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by comparing the KBXXXXXX.txt file against the objects in the AOT. By doing this, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.
Note The XXXXXX placeholder represents the KB article number of the installed hotfix.
