Question:

Using the Advanced ODBC query with the SQL statement typed in, when exiting the query a"[Microsoft] [ODBC Text Driver] Too few parameters. Expected:1" error is returned. What is causing this?


Answer:

The statement that was being used was: SELECT *.* from vendors.txt WHERE [Vendor ID] = AAAAA


The error was caused because the value for the WHERE clause was not enclosed in quotes. OnceAAAAA was changed to 'AAAAA' the query was saved without error. Other incorrect formatting like extra spaces in the SQL statement can also cause this error.
