NET 7.0 has been refreshed with the latest update as of June 22, 2023. This update contains non-security fixes. See theĀ release notesĀ for details on updated packages.
.NET 7.0Ā servicingĀ updates are upgrades. The latestĀ servicingĀ update for 7.0 will remove theĀ previous 7.0 update upon successful installation. For example, when .NET 7.0.8Ā is installed .NET 7.0.7Ā versionĀ will be removed from the computer ifĀ present.Ā
We are releasing a second update this month to address a regression in our earlier release (June 13th). The new versionĀ is .NET 7.0.8. The regression is functional and doesn't require action on your part unless you are affected by the issue.Ā Also documented at .NET June OOB Updates.
Do I need to install 7.0.8?
There is no need to install these updates unless you are affected by the functional regression listed at KB5028608. If you are not affected by the functional regression described above, you can safely remain on 7.0.7.
Is 7.0.8 a security update?
No. These updates contain no new security fixes beyond what already shipped in 7.0.7. As long as you are running at least 7.0.7, you are protected with all of the latest available security fixes.
