Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You send a Microsoft Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) message on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • The message is configured to request a Mail Delivery Notification (MDN) report.

Note To configure a message to request an MDN report, set the MDNRequested property to true.

In this scenario, the Cdosys.dll process crashes and you receive an error message that resembles the following:

STATUS_HEAP_CORRUPTION (0xc0000374)

Note When this issue occurs, the CDO message is sent successfully.

Resolution

Important Windows 7 hotfixes and Windows Server 2008 R2 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, hotfixes on the Hotfix Request page are listed under both operating systems.
