Consider the following scenario:

  • You configure a Conference Auto Attendant (CAA) access number on a Microsoft Lync Server 2010 server.

  • A Lync 2010 user calls the CAA access number.

  • The user enters a conference ID.

In this scenario, the CAA cannot transfer the user to the conference. Additionally, you receive the following error message in the trace file:

The owner of the object passed does not match the original owner.

This issue occurs because a race condition occurs when the conference attendee communicate with the focus component to join the conference.

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:

2670540 Description of the cumulative update for Lync Server 2010, Conferencing Attendant: February 2012

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
