Symptoms

Assume that you install a standard performance benchmarking tool for 3D games (for example, you install 3DMark 06 or 3DMark 11) on a computer that is running Windows 8.1. When you run a test by using the tool, a 0x00000000D1 Stop error may occur.

Cause

This issue is caused by a race condition when the system creates a video synchronization object.
