In Internet Explorer 8, you configure the browser to reset the zoom level for new windows and tabs. This means that the browser will reset the zoom level to the default setting for new windows and tabs. However, after you open a webpage in Internet Explorer 8 and change the zoom level, you notice that the new webpage that opens in a new window or tab and keeps the zoom level as the changed zoom level.
For example, you select the Reset zoom level for new windows and tabs option in Internet Explorer 8. Then, you open a webpage in Internet Explorer and change the zoom level to 200%. After that, you close Internet Explorer and open a new webpage in Internet Explorer. In this scenario, the new webpage opens at 200% zoom level unexpectedly.
