Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You enable the Offline Files feature on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • You redirect a user’s home folder on the computer to a network share.

  • You try to synchronize the home folder when the computer is offline.

In this scenario, the offline synchronization may fail. Additionally, an error message that resembles the following may be logged in Sync Center:

Object name not found.

This issue occurs if the current user does not have permission to access other users' files that are located in the root folder of the network share.
