Symptoms

When you use Microsoft BizTalk in Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2), it stops responding intermittently.

Cause

If any DLL uses the WPP_INIT_TRACING macro in the DLLMain, it can lead to a deadlock condition when loading that DLL. In this case, the DLL that was using the macro was Kerberos.dll. This can affect any process. In this case, it affects the BizTalk Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
