This article describes an issue that occurs when you delete a parent node in Windows Server 2012 R2. A hotfix is available to fix this issue. The hotfix has a prerequisite.
Symptoms
Assume that the parent organizational unit (OU) object has the Protect object from accidental deletion option selected. However, its child nodes don't have this option selected. In this situation, accidental deletion of the parent node deletes all the child nodes while the parent node is retained.Â
