The Copilot Notebook Study Guide is an AI-powered feature in Microsoft 365 Copilot that helps learners and educators transform materials into interactive study aids. Integrated directly into Copilot Notebooks (available in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app and OneNote), the Study Guide automatically generates a multi-page study companion from content you provide – such as class notes, PDFs, Word documents, slides, or other learning materials. This tool is designed for students (typically high school and higher education, ages 13+) and their teachers or faculty, as well as corporate learners who need to master new information. With Copilot’s assistance, you can quickly get organized study materials that summarize key concepts and offer practice activities, all within your existing M365 Copilot app or OneNote environment (no separate app required).
Requirements
Accessing the Study Guide: The Copilot Notebook Study Guide is available to Education users ages 13+ and Enterprise users. In the near future, support for personal Microsoft 365 accounts (such as Family or Premium subscribers with Copilot access) is planned as well.
Supported platforms: The Study Guide is integrated into Copilot Notebooks, which you can access either via the Microsoft 365 Copilot app (on Web, Windows, or mobile devices) or within OneNote for Microsoft 365 (currently supported on Windows desktop, with other platforms rolling out). To use Copilot Notebooks (and its Study Guide feature), your account must also have an active OneDrive/SharePoint service, since notebooks are stored as part of your OneNote in Microsoft 365.

Community and Feedback Channels: Join the Microsoft Education Insiders Community to share your experiences and get insights from others. Microsoft hosts forums where educators piloting Copilot can discuss usage tips, report issues, and suggest improvements. This is a great way to stay updated on new features (for example, announcements around general availability or new Study Guide activities) and to learn from the best practices of early adopters. Microsoft engineers and support staff occasionally monitor these discussions, so your feedback can directly influence future iterations of the product.
