ISSUE

When you double-click or choose the "new" option on a template file (.xlt, .xltx, .xltm) in Excel 2016, Excel opens two identical copies of the file.

STATUS: FIXED

This issue is fixed in Monthly Channel Version 1709 (Build 8528.XXXX) or higher. To get the latest update immediately, open Excel and choose File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
