Summary

This article describes the Microsoft Office Excel 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 28, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You open a worksheet that is zoomed to a specific percentage value in Excel 2010.

    • You copy a graph or a picture from the worksheet, and then paste the link of the graph or the picture into another worksheet.

    • You save the changes to the workbook.

    • You reopen the Excel workbook, and then locate the zoomed in worksheet.

In this scenario, the original graph or picture is not zoomed in.

  • Any ActiveX objects that have windows do not hide as expected when you switch between some worksheets in formula edit mode in Excel 2010.

  • When you double click to open a saved .odc file instead of using the Excel User Interface, the OLAP Server formatting settings are not set by default.

  • You use the ActiveChart.Shapes.Count method in an Excel 2010 worksheet to retrieve the amount of shapes that a chart contains. However, the ActiveChart.Shapes.Count method returns the amount of comments in the worksheet.

Note The ActiveChart.Shapes.Count method should only return the number of the shapes on the chart.

  • You try to insert an Excel (.xls) file that contains an ActiveX object into an Office 2010 application. However, the insert operation fails.

  • You use the Dutch Multilingual User Interface (MUI) or German MUI in Excel 2010. When you use the NHW2 function in the Dutch version Excel or the ZW2 function in the German version Excel, the NHW2 function or the ZW2 function always returns an error value.

Note The NHW2 function is the equivalent of the XNPV function in the English version of Excel 2010. The ZW2 function is the equivalent of the FVSCHEDULE function in the English version of Excel 2010.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a workbook in Office Excel 2007 that contains a custom header or footer.

    • The custom header or footer includes full-width double-byte character set (DBCS) characters.

    • You open this workbook in Excel 2010.

In this scenario, the characters appear very large.
