INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Office 2013. This update provides the latest fixes for the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Office 2013 and Office Home and Student 2013 RT. Additionally, this update contains stability and performance improvements.

Issues that this update fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You save an Office file such as a Microsoft Excel workbook to a Microsoft OneDrive location and then share the file with a user who has "can edit" permissions by using the Invite People feature.

    • The user receives an email message together with a link to the shared Office file.

In this scenario, when the user clicks the link to open the shared file from Microsoft Outlook 2013, the associated Office 2013 application is opened instead of Office Web App. In this case, when the user clicks the link to the Excel workbook, Excel 2013 is opened instead of Excel Online. The user cannot edit the file by using Excel 2013.
