Summary
This article describes the Microsoft Word 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 13, 2011.
INTRODUCTION
Issues that this hotfix package fixes
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
Word 2010 is running behind some applications. For example, Outlook 2010 and Windows Internet Explorer are running in the foreground.
-
You use Windows Explorer to open a Word 2010 document.
-
-
Consider the following scenario. You insert an IncludePicture field into a Word 2010 document that has the Data not stored with document and Preserve formatting during updates options enabled. You resize the picture. After you save and close the document, you reopen the document and press F9 to update the picture. In this situation, the picture is resized to its original size.
-
After you open an email message that uses Baltic (ISO) code, you cannot paste HTML content into a new email message in Outlook 2010. Additionally, you do not receive a warning message when the paste operation fails.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have an HTML file that contains a hyperlink.
-
The hyperlink is separated into two lines. For example, the HTML file contains the following HTML code:
<html>
<body> <a href="http://www.bing .com?q=sanfrancisco">Hellp</a> </body> </html> -
You try to open the HTML file in Word 2010.
-
-
Assume that you have multiple Outlook profiles, and Outlook 2010 is not started. When you try to send a document as an attachment in Word 2010, the operation fails. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure: "Login failure".
-
When you set a password for a Word 2010 document and then try to save the document to a USB flash drive, the save operation fails and you receive the following error message:
Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.
-
Assume that you create a document that contains a special character at the beginning of some text, and you save the document as a .doc file in Word 2010. For example, the special character is "Ω". When you insert the text from the document into another Word 2010 document, the text is displayed incorrectly.
Note This issue occurs when the Track Changes feature is enabled and the User Name field is updated. -
