You experience one of the following symptoms in Outlook for Mac 2011 after you install the 14.3.2 update:

  • All email messages that you receive are moved to the Junk E-mail folder instead of the Inbox folder.

  • All email messages that you send are moved to the Junk E-mail folder instead of the Sent Items folder


This issue occurs because entries are added to the local Blocked Senders list. These entries cause Outlook to treat messages that you send and receive as if they originated from a blocked sender.

This behavior occurs because the 14.3.2 update causes Outlook to use your local Blocked Senders list to filter incoming and outgoing messages. This is a change from the previous behavior of the program. Before the 14.3.2 update, Outlook did not use the local Blocked Senders list when the program was configured by using a Microsoft Exchange account.


To resolve this issue, install the 14.3.4 update for Outlook for Mac 2011. For more information about this update, and to download the file, go to the following Microsoft website:


Note The following steps apply only to users who are using Outlook for Mac 2011 together with an Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007 account. Users who are using Outlook for Mac 2011 together with an Exchange 2013 account or some Office 365 accounts cannot adjust the Junk E-mail Protection settings in Outlook because that option is unavailable.

To work around this issue, follow these steps in Outlook for Mac 2011:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Junk E-mail Protection.

  2. On the Level tab, set the level of protection to Low.

    Note If the level is set to None, you cannot edit the Blocked Senders list.

  3. Click the Blocked Senders tab.

  4. Examine the Blocked Senders list for the following conditions, and then perform the corresponding action:

    • If your email address is added to the list, remove it.

    • If your domain is added to the list, remove it.

      Note A domain is the text at the end of an email address. For example, a domain entry in the list might be or

    • If any email address entry in the list uses a comma instead of a period in the domain name, correct the entry. For example, an incorrect entry might be someone@microsoft,com instead of

  5. Click OK.

We recommend that you occasionally review the Blocked Senders list to make sure that nothing unintentional is added, and that all the entries are correct.
