Symptoms

"Error 8512: An error has occurred while computing the translated amount"

This error occurs when generating a report in FRx Designer and using Currency Translation.

Cause

1. This error can be caused in FRx Designer, when using Currency Translation with the Microsoft FRx Company pointing to an incorrect DAX Currency Table. For example, the FRx General Ledger company is pointing to the Budget DAX table in the Information Rates path but the report is being generated for the Actual accounts. If the Microsoft FRx company is pointing to the Budget DAX table but generating a report using Actual accounts and Book Codes, FRx Designer will return the error message because the values in the Budget DAX tables do not match the values of the General Ledger Actual accounts.

2. Error can be caused when the DAX table was created with a certain regional settings, but the client running FRx is using different regional settings.

Resolution

1. Change the Rates Database Path in FRx Designer by navigating to the Company menu and selecting Information. In the Company Information screen correct the DAX table being used for the company and report.

2. Confirm the DAX table and workstations are using regional settings with the same date/time format.
