Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Work Order in Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • You open Inventory Items (10.250.00) and then set up an inventory item. When you do this, you set Lot/Serial Tracked to Lot Numbered.

  • You open Work Order Entry (12.250.00) and then enter a work order for the lot-numbered inventory item. When you do this, you specify a required quantity.

  • You open Work Order Material Issues (12.400.00) and then issue a quantity for the work order that is less than the required quantity.

  • You open Work Order Material Issues (12.400.00) and then issue a quantity such that the sum of the two quantities is less than the required quantity.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

System message 6855: The quantity available for this Lot is %"

The quantity that is listed as available in the message is incorrect.
