Symptoms

You install Windows HPC Server 2008 Software Development Kit (SDK) on a computer that runs a 32-bit version of Windows XP. However, when you try to run a job by using the SDK, you receive the following error message:

The procedure entry point GetProcessIdOfThread could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

Cause

This problem occurs because the SDK tries to use an API that is not available in 32-bit versions of Windows XP.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
