This article describes update 5002151 for Microsoft Office 2013 that was released on February 1, 2022. This update also applies to Office Home and Student 2013 RT.
Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It doesn't apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (See What version of Office am I using?)
Improvements and fixes
This update fixes an issue in which multiple users cannot open a Microsoft Access database simultaneously when the network paths include DFS Namespaces, short file names, or mapped drives. Additionally, one of the following error messages occurs:

Could not use ‘path to database.accdb’; file already in use.

Could not lock file.
