Summary
This article describes an update that is available that lets you parameterize Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 service sockets that have a TCP keep-alive configuration by using registry keys.The TCP keep-alive configuration is saved in the following registry location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\SnaBase\Parameters\SnaTcp The following registry values are introduced by this update:
KeepAlive
Type: REG_SZValue: YesFunction: Enables the SO_KEEPALIVE socket option.KeepAliveTime
Type: REG_DWORDValue: Number of secondsFunction: Specifies the time-out value, in seconds, of no activity until the first keep-alive packet is sent.KeepAliveInterval
Type: REG_DWORDValue: Number of secondsFunction: Specifies the time-out value, in seconds, between when successive keep-alive packets are sent if no acknowledgement is received.Notes

If you do not configure the KeepAlive registry value, the TCP keep-alive configuration is "true." The TCP keep-alive configuration is "false" when the value is set to any value other than Yes.

The default value for the KeepAliveTime and KeepAliveInterval values is zero. In this state, the TCP keep-alive configuration sends as many keep-alives as possible.

You must have Host Integration Server 2010 installed to apply this hotfix.
