This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 for the Czech Republic region.
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You set the following options in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009:
-
You have Czech Republic selected in the Country/Regional specific functionality field in the Company Information form.
-
You click to select the Sales tax on prepayment and the Reverse on an invoice date check boxes under AR/AP Parameters on the Ledger and Sales Tax tab.
-
You click to clear the Use corresponding mechanism check box on the Ledger tab of the Ledger Parameters form.
-
-
You post a vendor prepayment for the current fiscal year and then post the value-added tax (VAT) for the prepayment for a specific date and exchange rate.
-
You post an invoice and then post a settlement on a different date and for a different exchange rate than the date and exchange rate for the prepayment for the current fiscal year.
In this scenario, a reverse prepayment is posted unexpectedly. The reverse prepayment contains a different exchange rate for the vendor account and for the VAT account. Additionally, the vendor and VAT accounts are incorrect.

Validation of the application hotfix installation
To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method name that contains the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by viewing the KBxxxxxx.txt file against the objects in the AOT. Therefore, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.Note KBxxxxxx.txt is a placeholder for the KB article number of the installed hotfix.

More Information
According to the law of value-added tax (Law No. 235/2004) in the Czech Republic, the exchange rate that is announced by the Czech National Bank is valid for the date on which there is an obligation to report tax (VAT) and has to be used for the conversion of foreign currency to CZK for the VAT.The reporting date for the VAT is defined as the date of the chargeable event or the date of receipt of payment, whichever is earlier.This hotfix makes it possible to reverse a tax transaction during settlement by using the exchange rate on the date of the invoice but not on the date of prepayment. This behavior is enabled if Czech Republic is selected in the Country/Regional specific functionality field in the Company Information form.
