1. Check the available space:

    • Press Windows key  Start button in Windows11 + E to open File Explorer.

    • Select This PC on the left to check the available space on your drive.

  2. Clear Microsoft Store cache:

    • Press Windows key  Start button in Windows11 + R to open the Run dialog box.

    • Type wsreset.exe and select OK to clear the Microsoft Store cache.

  3. Restart your PC: Select Start Start button in Windows11​​​​​​​ > Power PowerGlyph for Bing enriched solutions​​​​​ > Restart Restart glyph for Bing enriched solution.

  4. Enable Storage Sense:

    • Start Start button in Windows11​​​​​​​ > Settings Settings glyph for Bing enriched solution > System >Storage.

    • Turn on Storage Sense to automatically free up space by removing unnecessary files.

  5. Use Cleanup recommendations to identify and delete temporary files, large or unused files, files synced to the cloud, and unused apps.

  6. Connect an external storage device like a USB drive or SD card to your PC.

  7. Move personal files such as videos, music, photos, and documents to the external storage device.

  8. Save new personal files to another drive:

    • Select Start Start button in Windows11​​​​​​​ > Settings Settings glyph for Bing enriched solution > System >Storage > Advanced storage settings.

    • Select where new content is saved and change the location.

  9. Turn on OneDrive Files On-Demand to save space by storing smaller placeholder files on your hard drive instead of full-size files.

  10. Run antivirus software like Windows Security to scan and clean up any malware that might be consuming hard-drive space.
