KaiTi (楷体 in Chinese) is a typeface designed for typesetting the Chinese language using the Simplified Chinese script. It is a “serif” style (Ming or Song) with smooth, flowing contrast between thick and thin strokes, and an appearance of having been written with a brush. It is an elegant typeface for use in titles and headlines, and is popular for posters, packaging, and advertising.
KaiTi was designed by Beijing ZhongYi Electronics Co. It has only one weight, with no italic style. In addition to Simplified Chinese characters, the font includes Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana, along with a variety of symbols, as well as capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets.
