FrankRuehl is the classic stye of Hebrew typeface. It is immediately recognizable, and it's suitable for both text and headlines or titles.
This was the first modern Hebrew typeface, designed by type designer Rafael Frank and originally published in 1908–1910 by the C.F. Rühl type foundry in Leipzig, Germany. The typeface was later taken over by the H. Berthold AG type foundry in Berlin, and it was included in the 1924 Berthold catalog of Hebrew and Yiddish typefaces.
The original design has been adapted many times for typesetting in metal, photographically, and on computers. The Latin letters included in the FrankRuehl font are based on Times New Roman, a similarly common and readable typeface. FrankRuehl has no italic styles or heavier weights, and like all Hebrew alphabets it has no distinction between capitals and lowercase letters.
