Assume that you open a PowerPivot workbook from a SharePoint site in Excel. You are then repeatedly prompted for a password.
Note To enable this hotfix, you must follow the steps in the More Information section to modify the registry first, and then you must restart your computer.

Important back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur. After you install the hotfix package, you should follow these steps to enable this hotfix:
Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it,-
Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

Locate and then select the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\PowerPivot\Settings\If the PowerPivot and the Settings registry key do not exist, you must create them first. To do this, follow these steps:

Select the 15.0 key.

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.

Type PowerPivot, and then press Enter.

Select the PowerPivot key.

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.

Type Settings, and then press Enter.

Select the Settings key, and then go to step 3.

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

Type PasswordPromptBehavior, and then press Enter.

In the Details pane, right-click PasswordPromptBehavior, and then click Modify.

In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

Exit Registry Editor.

The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the following table. When you view the file information, the date is converted to local time.
