To change the default value for the Refresh Frequency setting of a guest PC, follow these steps:

Note The following steps only apply to guest operating systems that support DirectX 5 and later. Windows NT only supports versions up to DirectX 3.

  1. Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.

  2. On the More Help tab, click Override.

  3. Set the value to 75 Hz or higher, depending on the monitor. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

    2. Double-click Display.

    3. In the Display Properties box, click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.

    4. In the Default Monitor Properties box, click the Monitor tab.

    5. On the Refresh Frequency menu, click 75 Hz (or higher, depending on your monitor), and then click OK.

    6. When you receive a prompt to apply the new settings, click OK, and then click Yes.

    7. Click OK.
