  1. What is Editor in SwiftKey?

  2. How to use Editor powered by GPT in SwiftKey?

  3. How to use real time grammar for Editor?

1. What is Editor in SwiftKey?

Editor is a new feature that helps you with grammar, spelling and punctuation in your writing. Whether you are composing an email, a report, a blog post or a tweet, Editor will help you write with confidence and clarity. Editor works seamlessly with SwiftKey, so you can access it in any app.

There are two types of Editor experiences:

  • Editor powered by GPT. When you trigger this feature, it will proofread your text and fix your grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes.

  • Real time grammar. This experience is triggered automatically when you make grammar mistakes. You can disable it in Settings > Typing >

2. How to use Editor powered by GPT in SwiftKey?

  1. Start typing some text. Please note that you need at least 3 words for the feature to work.

  2. Open the Editor feature from the toolbar button logo1 or tap the “...” button in the top right corner to find it.

  3. Please wait a few seconds for Editor to recommend improvements for your text.

  4. Once Editor returns corrections, they will be underlined so you know what changed.

  5. You can replace your initial text by tapping on Replace or copy your text to your clipboard by tapping on Copy.

If you make any changes to your text and come back to the feature, then Editor will look again for suggestions.

3. How to use real time grammar for Editor?

  1. When you type and you make a grammatical mistake, Editor will underline the word with the mistake and suggest a correction in the candidate bar. The correction will look slightly different than the other suggestions – please see “were” in the example below.

  2. As you continue to type, there are three ways you can fix your grammar mistakes:

  • You can tap on the suggestion from one. However, this will disappear after a while if you choose to ignore it.

  • You can tap on the underlined word and Editor will show you a suggestion in the candidate bar.

  • You can tap on the Editor icon in the candidate bar which will open Editor powered by GPT. See the part on Editor powered by GPT above for instructions on how to use this feature.
